School class hike “Wild Forest”

Together we hike through the wild forest along Jasmund’s chalk cliffs. The ancient beeches here are witnesses of Europe’s original wilderness and have been part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage since 2011. But why are they so valuable, unique, and at the same time threatened? And what do you actually understand by “real” wilderness? In addition to a wide range of information, this hike above all offers moments that enable experiencing nature with all the senses. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to explore the indoor adventure exhibition with an audioguide and learn more about the diverse habitats in Jasmund National Park.

• 1.5-hour guided hike on the topics of wilderness, beech forests, UNESCO World Natural Heritage

Before or afterwards:

• Independent visit of the indoor adventure exhibition with audioguide
• Multivision cinema with the UNESCO World Heritage film “The Voice of the Forest” by and with Dirk Steffens
• View from the barrier-free skywalk
• Individual exploration of the outdoor grounds with discovery stations and playground
